Decorations In Danger

Update: Since I posted this originally, I see that the Caroling Children are also missing hands and their sheet music. Guess Kate did more damage than I thought!
Original Post:
I'm so sorry, Father Caroler, that you lost your head. Let me explain. Do you remember that sweet baby that couldn't even roll over when you were on display last Christmas?

Well, this year she can do this...

and this

and she really likes this

but her favorite thing is this

and this.

Wipe the worried looks off your faces, Nativity Scene People. You might be safe because you are up on a REALLY high table, and we bought her...

this.

Bring It On!

As Kate's shirt suggests, she was in the mood for food today. Candy and gum would have been just fine...

But she preferred the taters, turkey, stuffing, and corn! Oh, and it's actually her 2nd Thanksgiving, however, that is the only T'giving bib I have!

Whooo's Cute?

Claire studied owls last week and asked me to paint her up like one.
Sam joined in on the fun.

Leafy Fun

Ever tried to get a good picture of three kids...at the same time....while in leaves?

It's not easy.

Maybe impossible.

Larry took these pictures for me one afternoon while I was out grocery shopping. I was quite pleased that I hadn't totally missed out on the leafy fun.

Not Me! Monday

I have certainly earned the right to compose a Not Me! Monday post this week. Except, of course, I would never do any of these imperfect mothering blunders. Not Me!

I certainly did not pick Kate up from her nap the other day and realize that her sheets were wet. I thought, "Wow, that diaper really leaked." Then I did not suddenly realize her diaper didn't leak at all. A diaper can't leak if she isn't WEARING a diaper. I am a little more observant than that. I mean I would never forget to put on her diaper, snap up her onesie, pull up her pants and put her to bed. Not Me!

Then the very next day I absolutely did not hear from the back seat as we drove down our street, "Kate isn't buckled in her seat belt!" Two mistakes in a row, come on...Not Me! It would really take a scatter brain to set Kate in her carseat, put on her shoes, fix her hair then completely forget to BUCKLE HER SEATBELT! Not Me!

And while I'm (not) confessing, it really wasn't me that packed the kids' clothes for their overnight stay at their grandparents in a ...laundry basket. I always know where the duffle bag is, and would never want to appear as lazy as that to my in-laws...Not Me! I must say, though, that if I were to do that I might discover how much I can actually cram in there and possibly do it again sometime.

If you've had any Not Me! moments this week and would like to share then head on over to MckMama's blog and check out what everyone else has not been doing.

Winners

It was 70+ degrees, so Claire wasn't feeling the sweatsuit. She had a literal and figurative melt down.
Off came the sweatshirt. Much happier now.

Then all the girls stripped down and looked like a bunch of ragamuffins.

Enjoying water at half-time.

Championship trophy!

Kate enjoying a pre-game snack.

Claire deserves a snowcone, right?

The boys warming up

Taking the field

Sam on the left feeling no intimidation.

Let's just say our quarterback #5 appreciates Sam taking a shower before the game!

Winners! 25-7

Showing off the BIG trophy.

What a fun first year of football for Sam!

Highlights

No, not my hair highlights. My highlights of the week.

First, above all else, I am still thanking Jesus for the miraculously successful results of Stellan's (the baby we pray for) surgery. He is just a miracle baby.

Funny kid moment: Claire and I were working on Math this morning. I showed her I had 7 marshmallows in one bowl. I had a second bowl with a certain amount but they were covered with a paper towel where she couldn't see. I told her I had 15 all together. So I asked, "How can we figure out how many are in the covered bowl?" She looks at me like I am really missing the boat, and says, "We just lift the paper towel and look!" That's my girl...who needs Math! Bring on the marshmallows.

All three kids got both types of flu shots. Yes, that is a highlight. The chances of our home getting the flu has been greatly reduced. And, bonus, Larry was able to go along and hold Sam in a bear hug so that the grizzly bear of a male nurse didn't have to be called in from down the hall. Again.

I didn't have to have a face-off with a couple of Electronics Express dudes concerning a return. I was ready. And I had someone waiting to post bail if the need arose.

I have officially lost 7 pounds. Only 20 more to go. Sigh.

There are more, but that's the top 5, and I'm missing "The Office" so enough about me.
