A Day At The Falls

We spent a wonderful Spring day at Rutledge Falls last week.

Claire's BFF was with us.

So was her adventure-seeking mom.

They had never been to this beautiful piece of creation, so we gladly showed them the way.
We saw a tree that looked like a dinosaur.

Why so sad, Claire?

Ah, yes, you must bust yourself up about once a day.

I could live right here. Well, until I needed to eat...or go to the bathroom.
Which reminds me, we saw what might be the world's largest bird poop.

On a quest back to the van. We were getting hungry after all this adventure.

So pretty. Even if the trees hadn't bloomed yet.

One more shot and then we'll have lunch...promise!
Spring had a slow start, but so far it was worth the wait.

Beautiful Buttercups

Kate yelled, "Yeyow, yeyow!" as we approached the buttercups ("Yellow, yellow!" for those of you who don't speak Kate-ish.) She wasn't much into them after that. She was more interested in running towards the street. Claire, of course, was a willing model.

The Park ~ Kate Style

Much peek-a-boo-ing...
Lots of climbing...

Exploring...

Reaching...

and coveting the Dora ball that this other kid wouldn't share!

Makes for a glazed over, "Dora" video watching, QUIET ride home!

Baby Love

Kate loves her place as the baby of the family.
And we love to give her love!

Signs of Spring

Sunshine in our hair
Buds on the Weeping Willow

Barefoot afternoons

Chalk masterpieces

Swinging with siblings
Anyone else feeling the signs of Spring??

Space Center

"I remember driving in the Sea of Tranquility in my lunar ro-ver." ~~Brian Regan

Saturn V

Claire climbing around Mars

Sam and Larry landing the shuttle...or something. I zoned out.

Kate blasting off!

She soon realized the rocket wasn't going anywhere, so she decided to watch "Dora."

Kate and "Na" (aka blanket) under the Saturn V.

Claire on a mission in a module....or something. Again, rocket science = duhhhh.

Claire photo-bombing the moon walk action.

Hope this thing doesn't fire up suddenly!

We visited the Space and Rocket Center in AL yesterday. Yep, rocket science is still over my head at age 36. I could quite possibly be the most uninformed person that ever set foot here.
