Not Me! Monday

I have certainly earned the right to compose a Not Me! Monday post this week. Except, of course, I would never do any of these imperfect mothering blunders. Not Me!

I certainly did not pick Kate up from her nap the other day and realize that her sheets were wet. I thought, "Wow, that diaper really leaked." Then I did not suddenly realize her diaper didn't leak at all. A diaper can't leak if she isn't WEARING a diaper. I am a little more observant than that. I mean I would never forget to put on her diaper, snap up her onesie, pull up her pants and put her to bed. Not Me!

Then the very next day I absolutely did not hear from the back seat as we drove down our street, "Kate isn't buckled in her seat belt!" Two mistakes in a row, come on...Not Me! It would really take a scatter brain to set Kate in her carseat, put on her shoes, fix her hair then completely forget to BUCKLE HER SEATBELT! Not Me!

And while I'm (not) confessing, it really wasn't me that packed the kids' clothes for their overnight stay at their grandparents in a ...laundry basket. I always know where the duffle bag is, and would never want to appear as lazy as that to my in-laws...Not Me! I must say, though, that if I were to do that I might discover how much I can actually cram in there and possibly do it again sometime.
