As American As...

Okay, seriously now, did you know that the smooth bottomed apples are tart and the bumpy ones (left) are sweet. Please tell me I'm not the only one that didn't know that.



What does this have to do with apples? She's the apple of my eye. I'm on a roll here.

The apple pie Claire and I made. Tomorrow: applesauce. I have LOTS of apples remaining from our orchard trip!
Claire is continuing on this week with her study of the book, "How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World." It is a humorous story about a girl that decides to make an apple pie but the store is closed, so she goes around the world collecting the ingredients. It has been a fun study. And bad for the diet. Which started today. Don't ask.
