The Lone Tooth Is A Goner

Claire just barely made it onto the Tooth Fairy's list for the night. Her tooth came out right before bedtime. Her missing teeth area looks much better now. That lone tooth was a bit odd. I love her new lisp! So cute.

Kate's Dedication

Today was Baby Dedication Day at our church. Kate wore a beautiful christening gown that was given to Claire by Granny Deborah. She also wore a little bonnet that turns into a handkerchief to hold on her wedding day. She looked so adorable!

Getting ready in her room this morning

Posing with Mama (on Mother's Day!)

With Daddy right before the dedication

On stage

About 10 minutes later...she hung in there until it was over then she crashed.

Run, Daisy, Run

Kate's main motivation for crawling is Daisy. And Daisy's ball. But mostly Daisy.

Toothless!

Guess who came to visit our house last night? That's right, the tooth fairy. Claire lost her first tooth yesterday, although her teeth have such big spaces that it looks like she lost one on each side of that lone little tooth that is left. The lone tooth is also loose (catchy phrase!) But she couldn't pry it out for a second dollar, hard as she tried. She was so excited about losing her tooth. She thought no one would recognize her at the party she went to today, so I told her to just keep her mouth closed the whole time.

In other amazing news about my children (and that is why you all are reading this, right?!)...Kate is officially crawling! She has been scooting on her bottom for several weeks now, but yesterday she finally drug her right leg along at the right time instead of giving up and sitting back down when it was time to move that leg. Oh boy, nothing is safe! We are all having a hard time adjusting to her being mobile. She, on the other hand, is tickled with her accomplishment, and the world is her oyster...or box of dog toys as is the case tonight.

Let's see, has Sam done anything exciting lately? Umm, nothing is coming to mind since the Sparky Award. I guess he is allowed a few days off.

My Little Botanist

I mentioned a few weeks ago that Claire is very interested in flowers right now. So much so that she chose a wildflower book as her souvenir at a recent field trip. It just so happens that Aunt Linda has a fabulous garden of flowers, so we went to visit yesterday. She gave Claire an excellent tour, helped her pot her own flower plant, and gave her a beautiful bouquet that she cut as Claire pointed to what she wanted. Thanks Aunt Linda!

Claire is learning about a lamb's ear leaf.

Posing, as usual.

Aren't they pretty!?

This one is for Betty as she loves irises.

Not Me!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Let me start off by going back a couple weeks and emphatically deny that I did not burn breakfast on the day of Stellan's surgery because I was so busy praying and uploading "Orange For Stellan" photos. And, I would never actually take a picture of said burnt breakfast and post it to my blog. We all know what an excellent chef I am, so that was Not Me!

Certainly it was Not Me that lounged in bed watching "Madagascar 2" yesterday afternoon while my husband swept, mopped, unloaded the dishwasher, vacuumed, and started the laundry. I would never allow him to do such things without insisting I help in some way. Not Me!

I also would never allow Sam to eat two cold hot dogs for breakfast because I simply just give up trying to be responsible some moments, and that is what he begged to have. I did not say yes to that, Not Me!

I am so not looking forward to the end of the school year. I am not counting down the days with the kids. We love home-schooling so much that we want to do it year round, even on Saturdays and holidays, so I would never look forward to a break. Not Me!

My denials would not be complete if I didn't mention that I do not love the quietness that falls on our house at bed time. I don't need this time of sanity retrieval to power-up for tomorrow. Not Me! Good night!

So Proud

Tonight was awards night for Awana, and I am so proud of the kids' hard work of memorizing scripture. Claire completed her book a few weeks ago and received her ribbon at that time. Sam completed his book, and since it was the third and final book for Sparks, he received the Sparky Award plaque. He was quite pleased that he had reached his goal.
